Growth is about conquering new challenges, breaking new ground, and providing effective new treatments. Founded as a small community hospital in 1948, TMH has emerged as a regional healthcare leader. And we continue to expand and grow. We are well on our way to becoming an academic medical center and a place where innovation, education, and research merge to create meaningful change for patients and colleagues. Join us, and let’s transform lives.

We Are Growing

Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare is all about growth—in size, influence, innovation, and impact. To meet increased demand for our excellent healthcare throughout the communities we serve, we are growing and building.

Building a second hospital and healthcare campus in Panama City Beach, Florida in partnership with the St. Joe Company and Florida State University. Plans include the opening of an 80,000-square-foot medical office building in July 2024 and a 100-bed hospital with an emergency center and additional inpatient services, which is scheduled to open in 2027.

Shared Governance

Shared governance at TMH is about working together to improve our organization for our patients, visitors, colleagues, and community. Participating in shared governance allows colleagues to work alongside TMH leadership and across departments they may not ordinarily interact with, which presents valuable networking opportunities. Additionally, members improve their leadership skills and further their professional development.

Shared governance consists of seven councils that span different aspects of TMH to take on organizational priorities and projects:

Leadership Development

TMH invests in colleagues through Leadership TMH, a 10-month program designed to empower emerging leaders and provide existing leaders with the tools and skills needed to enhance their capabilities. Each year, 25 participants are selected for the program. In addition, the Leadership Development Series offers all leaders a monthly opportunity to learn about topics like effective communications, and giving and receiving feedback.

Another Growing Success Story at TMH
Jared Cotton

Patient Transporter to Senior IT Applications Analyst/Revenue Cycle

Born at Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare (TMH), Jared Cotton joined TMH in 2014 as a patient transporter. He capitalized on the opportunities to grow and progressed to the role of assistant director of Health Information Management Services, where he led and managed the Chart Completion Team, which is responsible for document processing, chart analysis and coding. Continuing to advance, Jared is now a Senior IT Applications Analyst working with Revenue Cycle, which covers the business side of healthcare and includes all tasks associated with the management and collection of revenue generated by healthcare organizations from patient care, encompassing initial patient intake through complete payment collection. In his own words:

“Tallahassee Memorial is continuing to experience growth, and with growth comes opportunity. We are enhancing our culture to better serve our colleagues for their individual growth within the organization. TMH helped mold me to be the young professional that I am and accelerated my personal growth. Joining TMH will be an experience you will not forget.”
